Top 10 Cotton Producing States in India

In global cotton production, India is among the top 3 countries for the last few years. When you look at cotton firming across the Indian states, the majority of cotton production comes from ten states, which are grouped into three diverse agroecological zones. 

• Northern Zone - Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan
• Central Zone - Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh
• Southern Zone - Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu
